Kyle Richardson, 2009 legionbaseball.com Player of the Year
Unprecedented third time award for the talented Roman
August 04, 2009 - Kyle Richardson has, once again, won the prestigious legionbaseball.com 2009 Player of the Year Award. Kyle will accept his award at the 2009 Oneida County American Legion Baseball All-star Game being played Tuesday evening at 6 PM at DeLutis Field. The sheer dominance of Kyle's performance is seen when looking at the categories that determine the winner. Those categories are listed on the Leader Board. There was only one category that Kyle wasn't perched in the top 5. That was for Home Runs, he only had a paltry 2 Home Runs this season! You kind of get the feeling that Kyle wanted to leave something for the rest of the field to shoot for! Here's why:Total Hits: he was 2 behind the leader, Lee Foxton. RBI's: 1 behind his teammate Rocco DeBlasiis. Batting Average: Doug Forbragd .520, Kyle .519. Stolen Bases: in 4th place 5 bases behind the leader, George Hajjar. And last but not least for the Strike Out title Kyle chased Jake Ross most of the season and just missed catching him by 1 strike out when Jake threw 58 K's and Kyle spun 57! Kyle led in all other categories to become the undesputed winner of the 2009 Oneida County legionbaseball.com Player of the Year winner. Not only is three titles a charm, but attaining it so decisively is as impressive as it gets. Best of luck and congratualtions to Kyle and all the winners from legionbaseball.com
